Description:
This project proposes to rehabilitate Taxiways (TW) Romeo South from TW Papa to TW Kilo and TW Lima from TW Romeo to TW Echo. This will include removing and replacing asphalt; providing an adequate typical section; evaluating taxiway safety areas; replacing lighting, markings, and signs; removing, replacing, and modifying existing storm drainage; and adjusting utilities as needed.

Justification:
Taxiways Romeo and Lima serve hardstands and terminals. The pavement for TW Romeo was last rehabilitated in 2016. The pavement for TW Lima was last rehabilitated in 2013 and had a surface seal rehabilitation in 2020. The surfaces contain alligator cracking, rutting, and raveling. The main purpose of this project is to continue providing service to taxiing aircraft. TW Romeo had an average PCI of 58 in 2019 and TW Lima had a PCI of 71 in 2022. A PCI below 55 is considered poor and in need of replacement for a taxiway and apron. If this project is not implemented, taxiway pavement conditions will degrade to an unacceptable level. The asphalt will continue to deteriorate until the surface cannot support moving aircraft, making the taxiway unusable.
