Need Overview

Need Name: Replace Passenger Boarding Bridge N7
Type:
Funding Source:
Category:
Sub Category:
Estimated Cost: $3,485,643
Description: Install a new passenger boarding bridge (PBB) at gate N7 in the North Terminal (NT) including new foundation along with mechanical and electrical upgrades. Existing PBB will be removed and disposed.
Priority: Short
Need Origination: M&O
Justification: The existing passenger boarding bridge was installed as part of the North Terminal construction in 1985. Locating and purchasing spare parts has become increasingly difficult. The manufacturer no longer manufactures, or stocks spare parts for this PBB. The existing PBB has exceeded its useful life. A new PBB on the NT will make it more dependable with less downtime. New passenger boarding bridges have increased safety features, enhancing safety for passengers, ground support personnel and passenger boarding bridge operators. They also provide features better protecting planes from damage at the gate. New passenger boarding bridges operate with increased dependability, lowering operations and maintenance costs. They may operate at lower electrical costs.
