Description:
Improve approximately 6,000 feet of existing water mains by trenchless techniques that serve the North Terminal, Concourse C, Concourse A, and the old Airfield Maintenance Building. Replace all hydrants and water valves that are encountered and install additional valves where needed. Abandon a section of water main located under Concourse A with a valve that is currently closed.

Justification:
The existing water mains provide water for firefighting protection for the Terminal and old Maintenance Building. The water mains located at the Terminal are estimated to have 10-15 years life remaining and the existing water mains at the old Airfield Maintenance Building are estimated to have 5-10 years life remaining. Trenchless improvements are proposed to extend the useful life of the existing water mains and prevent the need for replacement with open trenches in the future.
