Description:
The purpose of the Proposed Action is to remedy deficiencies and upgrade the Nunam Iqua Airport to meet current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) design standards and enhance the operational capabilities of the airport.

Justification:
The existing runway length, runway safety area length and width, and taxiway length and safety area do meet FAA standards. The safely useable length of the runway is less than the published 3,016 ft due to damage reducing runway width in sections near Runway End 2. A NOTAM will remain in place until the runway is repaired.
