Description:
The east side of the airport is built near a bog, which causes drainage issues an extra soft runway. Drainage improvements should resolve this issue. The airport is lower than the hill to the west and all the water running off the hill is directed through two culverts on an access road above the airport.

Justification:
This project is eligible and justified under the AIP per the AIP Handbook. This project preserves infrastructure through reconstruction of the airport drainage systems and prevents softening of the runway, which leads to aircraft damage and safety issues. The airport also needs installation of new culverts, removal of inoperative culverts, regrading of ditches and safety areas, additional gravel and regrade of the runway, and drainage repairs to the airport access road.
Notes:
Once the drainage is repaired, the runway surface should also be rehabilitated and new surface material added. ST AF DR
