Justification:
The lights are 31 years old and there is frequent maintenance required. Lights have a useful life of 10 years and this is a primary airport with year around service. Klawock is also the only land airport to serve the communities on Prince of Wales Island. The DOT&PF lighting priority assessment has given Klawock a priority 1. The airport apron is surrounded by terrain that can damage an aircraft and possibly cause injury. Having a good apron lighting system will prevent wrongful apron exit by aircraft.
