Justification:
The main purpose of this project is to rejuvenate the asphalt surface to ensure the pavement reaches its useful life by helping to prevent additional weathering. Applying the sand seal coat will reduce the need for crack sealing, lessen premature raveling and protect the asphalt surface from distresses caused by freeze thaw cycles and maintenance activities such as snow removal. The age of these surfaces ranges from 11 to 32 years old with PCI values from 53 to 68, making the apron a good candidate for sand seal.
