Justification:
The lighting vault and all the lighting controls are beyond their service lives and functionally obsolete. The building is corroded and the roof will soon leak water. The building foundation is cracked and showing structural issues. The controls, including the transformers, regulators, switchgear, conduit, and wiring are becoming unreliable and Sitka is one of the State's busier airports with over 90,000 enplanements in 2019. A failed lighting system in Sitka presents a safety issue and an issue with keeping the National Airspace System efficient. The regulators are so obsolete that parts cannot be found.
Notes:
Can't find a motherboard for the taxiway lights and we may lose the lights this winter.
