Justification:
The climate in Fairbanks is particularly cold which is hard on all equipment. FAI’s passenger boarding bridges are no exception, the airport owned bridge at gate 3 is a refurbished unit and is suffering from recurrent mechanical issues that require costly repairs. During the summer the airport is gate constrained and having one of our six bridges out of service causes significant operational challenges.
