Description:
This project will rehabilitate the runway, taxiway, apron, and fix dips and heaves, including in the safety areas. The project will resurface the operational surfaces with a CASC, apply a dust palliative to the surface course, replace runway and taxiway lighting, replace segmented circle panels, and install a new electrical equipment building.

Justification:
The gravel surface course is in poor condition and failing. The runway has dips heaves from thaw settlement under the embankments. Poor drainage and settlement have caused rutting, dips, and cracks resulting in erosion and ponding. Without these improvements, surfaces and conditions will degrade such that operational minimums will be difficult to meet. The lighting system is an older system with parts difficult to find and with the severe ground settlement the wires are getting pulled tight. The segmented circle panels were not replaced with the last project and have faded to the point of not being effective. The electrical equipment building was not replaced with the last project and has reached the end of it’s useful life and water is penetrating the electrical equipment building.
