Description:
Project Description This project will construct an interior (airside) perimeter service road at the Dillingham Airport and reconstruct portions of the existing security fence to aid with snow removal operations, wildlife control, security issues, and year-round maintenance. This project is in response to the Letter of Correction (LOC) with 14 CFR Part 139 that was issued by the FAA on April 26, 2021, related to public safety due the conditions of the fence.

Justification:
Justification This project is necessary to maintain the Dillingham Airport Part 139 certificate. Large sections of the airport fence are inaccessible to safe year-round maintenance. Secure fencing is required for the airport to maintain certification. Federal Regulation 14 CFR ยง 139.335 requires certificated commercial airports to maintain a fence for public safety. The Perimeter fence is difficult to maintain and in poor condition due to lack of access. Snow drifts against fence are creating a security hazard. M&O originated the request upon receiving the LOC due in part to the fence conditions.
