Justification:
The existing water and sewer lines are well beyond their service life and are in danger of failing. The City and Borough of Sitka (CBS), which has maintained the lines in the past, has said they will no longer maintain the airport sewer and water lines. The location of these utilities are also preventing the development of lease lots and there is more demand than there is supply for lease lots. There are plans for large hangars that cannot be built.
Notes:
Funding source is being explored. It is not AIP eligible. One plan may be to relocate/rebuild the system and then turn it over to the CBS for use.
