Justification:
The existing gravel operational surfaces (runway, taxiway apron) are in poor condition with soft spots, ruts, and potholes, requiring rehabilitation. The runway safety area is not adequately sized for the critical aircraft. Runway and taxiway lighting systems and visual aids are also in poor condition with dislodged and inoperative lights, exposed wiring, deteriorated wind cones, which now require replacement.
Notes:
Funding was awarded for surface preservation of the operational surfaces. Surface preservation includes preventative maintenance and temporary repairs to address pot holes, ruts, soft spots, and minor subsidence. The last surface maintenance grant was awarded in 2011.
