Justification:
Port Protection is a hub for commercial gillnet and trolling fleets during the summer. The existing float is deteriorated and nearing the end of its useful service life. Replacement is necessary to insure continued use of the facility. In addition, the facility inadequate size to accommodate single engine Otters. The existing float does not include a pullout ramp with tie-downs to safely overnight or leave an aircraft unattended. The existing facility can not accommodate more than one aircraft at a time. A facility to accommodate both commercial and overnight transient parking is needed.
