Description: Kasilof lies on the Sterling Highway, which provides road access to Anchorage, 162 road miles to the north. The state owns and operates a gravel airstrip, and there are three additional private airstrips in the vicinity. The nearest airport with scheduled commercial service is approximately 20 road miles north in the City of Kenai, which also offers docking facilities. At Kasilof, there is a boat launch on the Kasilof River, and DNR is planning the addition of a second boat launch to facilitate sport fishing on the lower Kasilof River.
